Somali Norwegian Strategic Partners( SNSP) is arranging a seminar about the possibilities and potentials for direct foreign business investment in Somalia.
We invite you to a seminar where we can learn about investment opportunities in Somalia and discuss the opportunities, challenges and experiences associated with making investments in in the country.
Norfund, is the Norwegian state’s investment fund for developing countries with their local partners in Somalia, is one of a few government funds from Western countries that have invested directly in Somali small and medium-sized companies. The fund has invested in dozens of Somali companies in both Somaliland and southern Somalia, and some of these investments have already been repaid with returns.
SNSP has also invited Jon Bøhmer, entrepreneur and Hamdi A. Mohamed economist, and who writes for IRN on Islamic finance, works for SSB and is member of Rethinking Economics Norway. Bøhmer is the entrepreneur behind the recently listed renewable energy company Kyoto group is the leading well-known Norwegian investors who have been out doing business and investing in Somalia.
We also have the innovation Norway who will present and give presentations about their office in East Africa based in Nairobi Kenya. The office operates Norwegian investments and companies in East Africa.
Norway invests a lot of funds in Somalia every year from both aid and money in the business community. Especially in the business community, Norway has been pioneering and focused on providing loans to companies through Norfund and investments through Innovation Norway. We at Somali Norwegian Strategic Partners (SNSP) notice that much of the Norwegian investment in Somalia’s business community is unknown to the diaspora. That is why we have offered Norway Norfund and Innovation to present how they work in Somalia and East Africa.
Here there are many opportunities for the Norfund, Innovation Norway and the Somali diaspora to connect, network and learn from eachother! We in SNSP want to create a platform to bring people and great ideas together!
Welcome on March 24th, at 17:30!
Address: Schweigaards gate 14, 0185 Oslo
